community

Community for the sake of community cannot bear the weight of expectation.

One of the truest blessings of this life, of this calling, is the community we enjoy. I jokingly often find myself explaining to others that my family just tends to collect people.  That our band, collects people as we go. And this wonderful assortment of lives weaves together a family under the Lord more beautiful than any of us could ever imagine.

Yet community as the highest value, eventually weakens...it wanes. Community for the sake of community cannot bear the weight of expectation.

Community must be rooted and grounded in something deeper so it can manifest freely as the fruit of a deeper work. Free to flourish and thrive! Connected to a source. The source which gives the truth to fill. The source which gives the cause to champion.

If you seek community, you may loose it...or honestly, suffocate it. But if you seek the Source, you will find Him and find community as well. And finding community is really and truly more about extending it than finding it. About being a place where community can flourish as we are rooted and grounded in something, in Someone, greater than ourselves.
