honor
I can’t tell you how many times I have these conversations with those I know and love and remind my own heart of these things as well. Thank you for indulging me to say these things here in this space too…
A gentleman doesn’t put a lady in a place where she has to say no. But even if she does say no, he listens the first time and doesn’t make her say it again. No always means no. (And ladies, don’t play around with that word either…reserve your no for when you actually mean it.)
Honor protects those around them, it does not demand power over them.
A gentleman understands the culture and delivers those around him from fear, rather than inducing fear.
Not too long ago, a man was walking quickly and determinedly straight towards me where I was walking in a parking lot. And when it registered to him that he was blazing a path right for me, he kindly smiled and diverted his path on a different angle to continue on his way without giving me any pause to wonder if he was a threat or not.
Love takes care of others. Lust takes from others.
Learn and walk in the path of love.
