0 javalinas (peccaries) aka "rodents of unusual size"
"Rodents of unusual size, I don't think they exist."
Having been severely warned of javalinas before we made our journey into southwest Texas, we were slightly terrified but mostly entertained by the concept of an oversized pig-rodent with razor sharp teeth that runs in packs and might chase us. Who wouldn't be? They're just one of the many reasons locals are packing all the time...besides the fact that it's the west and that's what you do. But alas, we didn't spy even one. We'll just have to go back.
